About Me

Hi, I’m Lindsey. I am a self-professed ‘fresh air fein’. I love being outdoors, am inspired by the seasons, and find great joy in sharing the fruits of this passion with others. The delight I have experienced in gifting a thoughtful, unique, hand-crafted bouquet, rustic loaf of sourdough bread or seasonally inspired bottle of kombucha with friends and family has propelled me to create En Plein Air and to offer this art to you and yours. Looking forward.

En Plein air is rooted in the belief that that which is imbued with fresh air nourishes our mind, body, and spirit.

Fresh air is elemental and dynamic.

Our name was birthed from the inspiration of plein air painting- the act of painting outdoors- which in contrast to studio painting, with its prescribed rules and controlled environment, may incline the artist towards a predetermined look. Each flower and ferment possess its own unique beauty and quality because of the air’s active participation.

En Plein Air celebrates the life force that is air. From hyper-seasonal garden bouquets to naturally leavened sourdough to small-batch kombucha and yogurt. All of our products are organic, made with a deep appreciation for the understanding that what is good for the earth is, in parallel, good for us; that the beauty and deliciousness of our products relies on and celebrates the dynamic nature of Plein Air.

About En Plein Air

En Plein Air is a partnership between husband and wife that seeks to cultivate beauty and foster community on the half-acre in Fair Oaks that our 1940s home was built. Our work is informed by a farm to fork (and jardin to jar!) philosophy- we are avid market-goers, know and partner with local, organic farmers and source our ingredients from such, and believe that what is in season, fresh, and local will taste better, smell more fragrant, be more vibrant, and provide a greater sense of well-being.
